    ECB Violations Getting Costly

The DOB is clamping down on ECB violators by introducing a new civic penalty targeting their wallets.

Class 1 ECB violations – immediately hazardous violations – must be correctly immediately with a Certificate of Correction as proof. The Certificate of Correction must be accompanied by proof of the correction, in the form of a photo, receipt, etc. The violator must also include a notarized statement describing details of the correction.

Failing to take the appropriate action will trigger a civil fine of $1,500. As a civil fine, this is in addition to any fines assessed by the ECB.

Resolving the violation will require payment of the civic penalty, as well as all the paperwork necessary to prove the violation was addressed.

Bottom line here – ECB violations are serious and could be costly. Take the time to remedy anything before they escalate, since they won’t go away on their own.
