Full Plans Required for C of O
The process for updating construction sign-offs has changed dramatically. In the last month, the Construction Division of the DOB has added a requirement to the sign-off process.
Now, all inspections require a complete, approved set of plans before the inspection can proceed. Furthermore, this applies to re-inspections where plans weren’t typically required.
This may be particularly troublesome for old buildings, where the last approved plans may be difficult to locate. To make matters worse, a violation may be issued of these plans are not presented.
