Market Chatter Picking Up - Will Projects Follow?
It seems like more than a year has passed since the dramatic downturn in our industry. While there’s certainly no complete rebound, there are persistent rumblings amongst developers, property owners, and financiers to re-examine projects that were long dormant.
Is this a new-found confidence in the market? Perhaps. More likely, it’s the realization that there are some profitable deals still on the table. What’s past is the pervasive fear that financing would evaporate, which brought everything to a standstill. Today, this fear has subsided, replaced instead by cautious optimism.
Rational people are starting to believe that there are great opportunities in the market. These opportunities will translate into new jobs, new developments and have only a long term positive impact on the City and industry.
Now may be a great time to start the preliminary work that precedes a new development project. As we know from the past, early adopters who take the calculated risk tend to reap the greatest returns.
