New Building Code - Progress, At Last.
It’s been a few months since we discussed the New Building Code – more accurately, griped, groaned and complained about its adoption. Truth be told, it has bee a challenging migration, but like all migrations, this one seems to be finding its groove.
What happened? I’d call it seasoning. Over the last year, many of the questions raised because of the New Code were answered by actual cases. As the volume of filings increases, so has the library of solutions. The individuals at the DOB now have a growing body of work to reference, and therefore we see a higher level of confidence in their responses.
Now, when you ask a question, there’s a real answer instead of a blank stare. To me, that’s a light at the end of the tunnel.
