New Technical Bulletin Modifies Concrete Testing Process
The DOB has issued a Buildings Bulletin which finalizes the changes to concrete testing procedure. In the past, the same testing lab could sign off on the testing of both the concrete mix and cylinders. Now, this is no longer the case – as different labs must now test the concrete mix and the cylinders.
The DOB seeks to bring greater accountability to the overall concrete testing process, and requiring separate testing labs for each stage should certainly help.
From a procedural point of view, what you really need to know is that the same testing company can’t sign off your TR2 and TR3.
