Update for Public Assembly Permits
Applying for a Public Assembly Permit has always had three requirement – a TR-1 for emergency lighting, an affidavit from an electrician, and a construction inspection.
Now, there’s a fourth requirement. The applicant must provide a Flame Spread Affidavit from a testing lab – for carpet, drapes, upholstery etc.
If there is nothing flammable, an Affidavit is still needed, this time from an architect. This Affidavit must be signed and sealed, and indicate that there’s nothing flammable at the site.
